Invasive Cardiovascular Technology Marketable Skills

Cardiovascular Technology

  • Proficiency in Cardiovascular Diagnostics:
    • Ability to perform and interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs), stress tests, and hemodynamic monitoring.
    • Knowledge of invasive diagnostic procedures, such as angiography and intracardiac pressure measurements.
  • Technical Operation of Catheterization Lab Equipment:
    • Skilled in operating imaging and catheter-based technologies, including fluoroscopy systems and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS).
    • Competent in setting up and maintaining sterile fields during cardiovascular procedures.
  • Patient Care and Monitoring:
    • Expertise in monitoring vital signs and managing patient comfort and safety during invasive procedures.
    • Ability to provide immediate care during emergencies, including assisting in resuscitation and recognizing arrhythmias.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving:
    • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with cardiovascular equipment during procedures.
