Payment Policies
Full payment must be received in the Student Financials office in compliance with the payment deadline requirements. Postmarks are not a consideration, and mail delivery does not occur on published campus closure dates. Web payments are dated same day as activity, regardless of office hours. 


Interested in a payment plan?

Establish a formal installment payment plan online, which allows you to split your payments into an initial 50 percent payment and then two installments scheduled later in the term. Cost of the plan is $25 and requires a signed promissory note, an initial 50 percent payment and a saved payment method for future installment payments. Students may only initiate a single payment plan per term.

**Please verify with your bank before entering savings account information. Most banks do not allow you to pay bills from your savings account and may block the transaction. If this happens, you will be responsible for payment of the $25.00 returned check fee**


Continuing Education students pay at the time of registration. Payment plans are not available.


Accounts with outstanding balances are subject to courses being dropped for non-payment.


Fall 2024


Beginning Fall 2024, payment plans are available with a minimum balance of $400.

Payment Options
Collin College accepts cash, check, MasterCard, VISA, or Discover payments. Payments are not to exceed the amount of tuition and fee charges on the student account. American Express is not accepted. Cash is accepted at any of our Student Financials offices, but not by mail. Cashier checks are also acceptable.

Authorized Users & FERPA
Students may set up authorized users in CougarPay, the secure payment suite in CougarWeb. Authorized users may make electronic payments, using credit card or web check, on authorized student accounts for the tuition and fee charges on the account. Please review the FERPA information.  Once a student identifies and authorizes a user, that individual will receive an email to their provided email account with login credentials and the  login site available to authorized users.  (Students log into CougarPay from CougarWeb.) 


The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords eligible students certain privacy rights with respect to their education records. 

Students who wish to grant access to family members or other designated individuals to view student account information and/or make payments on the student account should designate those individuals as authorized users in the secure payment portal. 

Log into CougarWeb, go into the payment portal, and then designate the individuals as authorized users. 

As authorized users, the individuals will be provided their own unique log in information to access the student account and make payments.
