BAS Construction Management

Construction Managers provide a professional service for effectively managing a construction project's schedule, scope, cost, safety, and quality from beginning to end. Collin College's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) Construction Management degree will prepare students for a career in the Construction Management field by teaching successful graduates a wide range of marketable skills including leadership and management principles; scheduling, planning, and cost estimating for construction projects; behavior of building structures; project safety; and risk management.
BAS Construction Management Admission Requirements
Admission to Collin College's BAS-Construction Management is selective and requires an additional application process. Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to the BAS-Construction Management program. To be eligible to apply for admission to the BAS Construction Management program, candidates must first complete an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Construction Management or a closely-related degree from a regionally accredited educational institution. Current students must be enrolled in their final semester of courses to complete the AAS Construction Management at the time of application to the BAS Construction Management program. Registration into upper division courses is by departmental permission only.
Applications for admission into the Fall 2025 BAS Construction Management program will be available December 1, 2024 - June 15, 2025.
Early Admission Applications due: April 1, 2025.
Application Deadline: June 15, 2025.
Steps to Apply:
- Complete an application for admission to Collin College (if not a current Collin College student).
- Submit official transcripts from all prior colleges/universities, if applicable.
- Attend a BAS Construction Management Information Session (see below for dates/times).
- Complete the BAS Application and submit to BASConstructionManagement@collin.edu.
- Send an email request to a current or past Collin College Construction Management instructor to submit a Recommendation Form on your behalf. Only one Recommendation Form should be submitted per applicant. Transfer students please contact Kate Smith (cmsmith@collin.edu) for instructions to complete this requirement.
What to Expect:
- All applications will be reviewed by the Construction Management Department and applicants will be notified of their status (acceptance or non-acceptance into the program). Early admission applicants will be notified of their status on or before April 30, 2025. All applicants will be notified of their status on or before June 30, 2025. Students accepted into the program will work with the Department's Program Coach to update their major and enroll in classes for the Fall term.
- Incomplete applications or ineligible applicants will be notified and directed to work with Student Enrollment Services and/or the Workforce Programs Coach to devise a plan to complete the requirements necessary to be admitted to the BAS Construction Management program in future terms.
What Can I Do to Increase My Chance of Being Accepted Into the Program?
- Attend a BAS Information Session (see dates and times below) early to understand the application process and selective admission criteria.
- Ensure you complete your application and submit all required paperwork on time.
- Follow your degree plan and complete all of your required coursework, including the Cooperative Work Experience, before the end of the Spring term. If there are seats available, the Department will consider admitting candidates who graduate in the Summer term, but there is no guarantee that there will be room to accommodate late applicants. Plan ahead!
