College Announces New Leadership Changes

Collin College announced new leadership recently focused on new campuses opening in Celina and Farmersville and the retirement announcement of a key administrator.

Dr. Abe Johnson

Dr. Abe Johnson, Plano Campus (Spring Creek) provost, will replace Dr. Toni Jenkins as the senior vice president of Campus Operations after she retires this year.

Dr. Johnson is responsible for planning, management, and evaluation of campus operations across the district, and providing leadership for all campus provosts.

Dr. Johnson previously served as the provost of the Frisco Campus and as an associate professor and dean of academic affairs at the McKinney Campus.

Brenda Carter was named Celina Campus executive dean.

Carter serves as the chief administrative officer of the assigned campus and is responsible for all aspects of campus operations, including student access, student success, campus culture, academic programming, and community engagement.

Carter previously served as the dean of academic affairs at the McKinney Campus for 14 years.

Dr. Mary Barnes-Tilley replaced Dr. Johnson as the new Plano Campus provost when he assumes his new role as Senior Vice President of Campus Operations.

Dr. Barnes-Tilley serves as the chief administrative officer of the campus and is responsible for all aspects of campus operations, including student access, student success, campus culture, academic programming, advancement, and community engagement.

Dr. Barnes-Tilley currently serves as the dean of academic affairs of the Plano Campus.

Dr. Diana Hopes was named Farmersville Campus
executive dean.

Dr. Hopes serves as the chief administrative officer of the assigned campus and is responsible for all aspects of campus operations, including student access, student success, campus culture, academic programming, and community engagement.

Dr. Hopes previously served as the dean of academic services at Collin College and served as an adjunct professor at University of North Texas, Texas A&M-Commerce, Southern Methodist University, and Dallas College.
