Collin College Vocational Nursing Students Achieve 100 Percent Pass Rate on State Boards

Feb. 28, 2023 Collin Colleges Vocational Nursing students recently received a 100 percent pass rate on their National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) for the Texas Board of Nursing.

The Vocational Nursing program is located at three Collin College campuses including the Wylie Campus, Celina Campus, and Technical Campus in Allen. The highly competitive program currently accepts up to 84 students per year between the three campuses.

Having a 100 percent pass rate is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and educators, said Dr. Abe Johnson, senior vice president of campus operations. Were proud of the quality education we offer here at the college, and this shows the standard of preparation we provide for our students to be successful.

According to the 2022 NCLEX-PN report, Texas has 90 institutions that offer a Vocational Nursing program and Collin College is one of only 15 institutions with a 100 percent pass rate. Collin College is also recognized as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nurses.

This is an ambitious and fast-paced program, and all our students have effectively become board certified, which increases their opportunities of employment, Dean of Nursing Dr. David Peruski said.
