Collin College Frisco Campus hosted its inaugural Careers for Success job fair on Nov. 16. The event provided students, alumni, and the general public with the chance to explore career opportunities within the local region across various industries. With more than 30 employers in attendance, job seekers had the opportunity to connect and network with potential employers.

This job fair proved to be beneficial not only for job seekers but also for participating employers.

“Our goal is to get our name out to the community since we are new to the Frisco area.” said Gregory Bunch, community and partnerships manager at XP League.

Companies gained exposure at the event, connecting with numerous individuals actively seeking employment opportunities.

Kevonna Scott, the Career Center manager at the Frisco Campus and the organizer of the Careers for Success job fair, emphasized the purpose of the event.

“The Frisco Campus Career Center organized the job fair to provide our students and the local community with valuable networking opportunities to assist in bridging the employment gap between exceptional talent and outstanding organizations,” Scott said. “This event served as a platform for employers to showcase their company's culture, values, and career opportunities to a pool of job seekers obtaining associate degrees and certificates with capable technical and transferable soft skills.”

Attendees at the job fair had different motivations for participating, but they shared a common goal.

Danish Adnan, a computer science student, attended to explore internship opportunities.

“It’s important to broaden our knowledge of companies in our area,” Adnan said.

Student Alejandro Ramirez highlighted the fair’s significance as a networking opportunity.

“I wanted to get a foot in the door of the medical industry and what better way to do that than meeting with professionals in person,” he said.

In closing, Collin College Frisco Campus's inaugural Careers for Success job fair successfully bridged opportunities between students and employers, setting the stage for future collaboration and career growth in the vibrant Frisco community.
