Collin College Technical Campus Hosts Open House, Car Meet

Collin College’s Technical Campus will host its fourth annual open house from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. Visitors will learn about state-of-the-art equipment, high-demand career fields including automotive, construction, health care, information technology, robotics, HVAC, and welding, and they will have an opportunity to learn more about the new Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Collin College and the Bachelor of Applied Science in Construction Management degree program.
For car enthusiasts, the event will also feature a car meet from 9 a.m.-Noon. Department demonstrations will happen throughout the campus including a special appearance of a robotic dog and other robotic demonstrations from the Engineering and Engineering Technology Department. The virtual welding machines will be available for interaction, and there will be a presentation on robotic welding from the HVAC and Welding Department. The event will also feature the 2D- and 3D-Printing labs that support the Interior Design and Computer-Aided Drafting and Design programs and master electricians and master plumbers from the Construction Department.

The Technical Campus is a three-story, 340,000-square-foot, four building complex. It serves up to 7,100 traditional, dual credit, and continuing education students when fully occupied, and provides classroom and lab space dedicated to training students on the latest techniques with the newest industry-standard technology. The campus was named a winner of the Caudill Award, one of the highest honors in the annual Exhibit of School Architecture, according to the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).
Collin College serves more than 58,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 200 degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cybersecurity, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Construction Management, and a new Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Clinical Operations Management.
