The first rule of Auteur Film Series is “You tell people about Auteur Film Series.”

Join Collin College for a showing of and discussion about the movie Fight Club at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at the McKinney Campus Conference Center. The screening and subsequent panel discussion are free and open to the public.

Adapted from a Chuck Palahniuk novel, this 1999 David Fincher cult classic film about the founding of an underground fight club ring has divided audiences. The film epitomizes this year’s Auteur Film Series theme of “Film Adaptation: From Page to Screen” and its selection of works that made the transition from books to the big screen.

The Auteur Film Series presents classic, foreign, and independent films with brief educational introductions before the screenings and faculty-led panel discussions afterward. The film series is designed to challenge the viewer’s intellect and encourage conversations that engage students in civil discourse.

The films will all be shown at 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each film begins, and seating is limited. For more information on the Auteur Film Series, including film ratings, visit www.collin.edu/academics/auteurfilms/ or call 972.881.5140. The McKinney Campus Conference Center is located at 2400 Community Ave. in McKinney.

The Auteur Film Series is supported by the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee (SAFAC) and the Academic Affairs and Workforce divisions at Collin College.
