Collin College and UNT at Frisco have partnered together to provide students with more course options and an affordable way to complete their degree in business or science. Students are admitted to both institutions, allowing enrollment in courses that transfer into UNT degrees, providing a more cost-effective path to earning a bachelor's degree from UNT. Collin College classes are offered at Collin College’s Frisco Campus and UNT at Frisco campus.

Available Courses

Biology and Chemistry

Students pursuing Biology or Chemistry degrees can take Collin College courses to stay on track for graduation—all while completing their degree in Frisco. With concurrent enrollment, required classes are available at any Collin College campus, including the Frisco Campus.

 

Business

Through concurrent enrollment, students can take both Collin College and UNT courses in one convenient location at the UNT Frisco Campus. Each semester, Collin College offers select Business Field of Study courses right at Frisco Landing.

 

Please note that Collin College’s academic calendar differs from UNT’s fall schedule.

  • Discuss eligible Collin College coursework with your academic advisor.
  • Your advisor will add XPTH placeholder courses to your schedule to indicate the total credit hours enrolled at Collin College.
  • XPTH courses will be dropped if Collin College registration and your third-party release are not complete.
  • Complete your application via ApplyTexas.
    • Biology majors select "Associate of Science."
    • Business majors select "Business Field of Study."
      Please note: Current students who have been enrolled at Collin College within the last academic year, and who have an active account, do not need to apply.
  • Submit all required documents.

    • Select “all items” to release your full record.
    • Select “student record information release” to permit UNT to send and receive your academic and financial records automatically.

    • After receiving a confirmation email from Collin College, log into the CougarWeb student portal to review your Collin College schedule.

When you are admitted and registered at Collin College and UNT concurrently, you are considered a student of both institutions and can participate in all events and services at UNT and Collin College.

Collin College is located at 9700 Wade Blvd in Frisco.

You may take the approved classes at any Collin College campus. The enrollment and transfer of credit process is the same for any of the Collin College campuses.

Once you are admitted to Collin College, College of Science students may enroll themselves in their desired sections. Business students will contact Toya Jackson to register for the classes you need. All students should be sure to complete the third-party release form through myUNT to allow Collin College and UNT to share your academic and financial information. Your advisor will also add a pathway course on your UNT schedule (XPTH) showing that you have registered for a Collin College course. UNT will provide you a single billing statement for all courses and will be your financial aid contact. 


If attending courses at Collin College and UNT, please contact the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible to discuss any impacts to your financial aid.


A College of Science or Business academic advisor should review your degree audit to verify that Collin College classes are right for you. Advisors will ensure the courses will apply to your biology or business degree and enroll you in XPTH courses at UNT.


UNT and Collin College can automate the transfer of credit between institutions with your permission. Permission is granted by logging in to your myUNT and completing the third-party release form. Follow the instructions on the checklist to add Collin College to your “third party release” form in myUNT.
