Collin College to Host Guest Speaker Series for Animation & Game Art Program

Collin College will host a guest speaker series for its Animation & Game Art program from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Wylie Campus Conference Center. The event will also be livestreamed via a Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3163376531.


Featured speaker Kevin Taylor is a senior character artist from Stray Kite Studios, located just north of Dallas. Taylor brings a wealth of experience, having worked on numerous incredible projects, and has contributed his talents to many renowned companies. Taylor started his journey as a 3-D modeler with Reel FX and went on to work for Brazen Animation and Vancouver's Animal Logic. His skills include UV mapping, Z-Brush, and Maya, and he has worked on commercials and featured films such as “The Addams Family 2.”

Taylor will talk about his journey throughout his career, sharing his personal experiences and insights about the industry. He will also showcase some of the exceptional work he has been part of and promises to make it an inspiring and educational evening.

Animation & Game Art Professor Russell Smith began hosting this series in Fall 2022 at the Frisco Campus and has now extended the series to both the Wylie and Frisco Campuses. Attendees may park in parking lot D to have simple access to Conference Center A.
