Collin College Students Awarded Scholarships From CMAA North Texas Chapter 2024 Annual Scholarship Program

Five Collin College Construction Management students were awarded scholarships from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) North Texas Chapter 2024 Annual Scholarship Program.

As part of the application process, each student was required to write an essay describing their passion and commitment to pursue a career in the field of construction management. Ricky Aguilar-Martinez from Garland and Jackson R. Phillips from McKinney received $3,000 scholarships for being in the “top five best presented applications.”  M. Andrew Prock from Wylie, Norasadat Hosseini Anvari from Frisco, and Rawan Akram from McKinney received $1,000 scholarships.

As recipients of the scholarships, the winners will have an opportunity to attend the CMAA North Texas Chapter Gala Award Ceremony on May 16.

CMAA is a national organization dedicated to the practice of professional construction management. The association represents more than 21,000 members including federal, state, and local government and private sector owners. CMAA North Texas Chapter’s mission is to promote, support, educate, and develop professionals who lead the delivery of programs and projects within the built environment. The chapter provides annual scholarships to students who are passionate and dedicated about pursuing a career in the field of construction management. This year, the North Texas Chapter awarded a total of $25,000 in scholarships to 15 applicants from Texas and Oklahoma.

Collin College serves more than 58,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 200 degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cybersecurity, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Construction Management, and a new Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Clinical Operations Management.
