The national initiative encourages participants to write 50,000 words throughout the month. The Frisco Campus Writing Center and the Frisco Campus Library are spearheading local efforts, including a collaboration with the Frisco Public Library. The events, which are free and open to the community, include:
- Workshops — These workshops cover a variety of topics to aid participants in their creative writing journey. Community members can attend workshops in-person at the Frisco Campus Writing Center, located at 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco, or online via Zoom.
- Come Write-In — These sessions offer opportunities for writers to gather and individually write on a topic of their choice. These events will take place on and off campus and will be hosted by professors and writing consultants.
- Celebration Event — The main event on Nov. 14 will include dinner, activities, selected readings, and a presentation by award-winning author Samantha Mabry.
