Public Invited to Third Annual Collin Leadership Policy Summit

The public is invited to attend the third annual Collin Leadership Policy Summit focused on education and workforce development. The half-day summit will take place from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the college’s Frisco Campus Conference Center. Tickets are still available at www.collin.edu/policysummit, but seating is limited.

“Each year, the Collin Leadership Policy Summit provides a venue for regional collaboration by showcasing policy solutions that improve our community,” said Dr. Neil Matkin, Collin College district president. “This year’s summit is centered around education, providing a unique opportunity for K-12 partners, higher education institutions, and industry leaders to share best practices that support student success and workforce development.”

The featured speakers of the keynote address, “Build a Stronger Workforce,” include the Commissioner of Education for the Texas Education Agency Mike Morath and President of the University of North Texas and former Commissioner of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Dr. Harrison Keller.

Numerous business, community, education, and civic leaders, including Texas State University President Dr. Kelly Damphousse and representatives from Texas A&M University, The University of Texas at Dallas, area hospitals, Toyota North America, and several other industry leaders will serve as panelists for the following discussions:

  • Building a Stronger Healthcare Ecosystem
  • Bridging the Skills Gap
  • Expanding Educational Access Through University Partnerships
  • Campus Safety and Security
  • Fostering a Culture of College and Career Readiness
  • The Why Behind Collegiate Academies
