Collin College's Jennings, Buss Named All-Americans For Second Year

Collin College’s Waiata Jennings and Mackenzie Buss have been named to National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Division I Women’s Basketball All-America teams for the second year in a row. Both players were part of Collin’s Southwest District-winning basketball team which earned back-to-back appearances in the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Buss, a 5-foot-4-inch sophomore guard from Lake Dallas, was named a Second Team All-American. Buss notched 17.7 points per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field. She sank 36.8 percent of her three-point attempts and added six rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Buss was named to the All-Region V Team and took Region V All-Tournament Most Valuable Player honors.
The 2023-2024 Collin College Women’s Basketball team recorded an overall record of 30-3, won the NJCAA Region V Tournament for the first time in the college’s history, and finished the regular season at No. 4 in the NJCAA coaches poll. The Region V Tournament win earned the Cougars the Southwest District title and the No. 4 seed in the national tournament.
