College Credit for Heroes

The College Credit for Heroes Grant will help turn Military Training into College Credits

Turn Your Military Experience into College Credit

You served with honor. You gained valuable skills.
Now put that knowledge toward your degree.

Collin College is excited to share that it has been chosen for a special program called the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) College Credit for Heroes (CCH) Capacity Building and Sustainability Program.

The College Credit for Heroes program helps veterans and service members get college credits for the skills they learned in the military. This makes it easier for them to go from military life to regular jobs. Collin College, along with other schools, gets to decide how these credits can be used for different degrees and certificates, giving more recognition to the valuable training received in the military.

Starting in Fall 2024, Collin College will begin awarding equivalency credits to eligible veteran students across more than 12-degree programs, including:

Save Time. Save Money. Advance Your Career.

Thanks to CCH grant funding, Collin Colleg now offers a streamlined process to evaluate and apply military training for academic credit toward select degrees.

That means:

  • Fewer classes to graduate
  • Reduced tuition costs
  • Faster entry into your career
