College Credit for Heroes
The College Credit for Heroes Grant will help turn Military Training into College Credits
Collin College is excited to share that it has been chosen for a special program called the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) College Credit for Heroes (CCH) Capacity Building and Sustainability Program.
The College Credit for Heroes program helps veterans and service members get college credits for the skills they learned in the military. This makes it easier for them to go from military life to regular jobs. Collin College, along with other schools, gets to decide how these credits can be used for different degrees and certificates, giving more recognition to the valuable training received in the military.
Starting in Fall 2024, Collin College will begin awarding equivalency credits to eligible veteran students across more than 12-degree programs, including:
- Information Systems Cybersecurity
- Computer Networking
- Computer Systems
- Electronic Engineering Technology
- Business Management
- Human Resources
- Culinary Arts
- HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning)
- Welding
- Construction Management
- Automotive Technology
- Supply Chain Management
