Degree Pathways

Pathways help you determine which classes you need to earn your degree. Search for a pathway to an associate degree at Collin College and on to a bachelor's degree at many universities. Pathways may be modified to fit your needs. You may search by university/ colleges or by area of interest. If you want to know how many credits you have, you may do it from your Cougar Account. There are two ways: viewing your unofficial transcript or going to Cougar Compass. View instructions on how to see your transcript.

What to Do When You Transfer 

  • You may need to supply your university with syllabi from certain courses you have taken at Collin. Find a syllabus.
  • You will have to order your Collin transcript. You can do that from your Cougar Account.
  • You may want to compare courses. This will help you know if you can get credit for courses you have taken at Collin.
  • You may want to check if universities are hosting a transfer event at their campus or virtually.
  • Check transfer scholarships. View scholarships offered by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. Visit our Transfer Links page to learn about pre-admission. Please also visit Academic Partnerships' Scholarship page.
  • Check for transfer requirements by visiting university websites. Go to our page Transfer Resources and Useful Links.
  • If you want to apply for financial aid (FAFSA), please visit Federal Student Aid page for instructions. 
  • If you have already applied for financial aid, check to make sure your status has not changed. For example, if you are 24 years old you may qualify for aid that you did not get when you first applied. Visit Financial Aid page to check if your status for FAFSA has changed.
  • Each university or college determines the transfer GPA that is acceptable. The information is located in the transfer colleges catalog and may also be found on their website.
  • Each college determines the number of transfer hours they will accept. The information may be found in their catalog or website under requirements for transfer students.
  • You will need to contact the out-of-state college or university for approval to transfer Collin College credits.  The out-of-state college or university may require a course description from the catalog year you took the course in order to make their decision.
