The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has developed standards for local governments to provide online financial transparency.

This section provides a summary of the most requested financial information about Collin College.

Collin College's operating budget is prepared for the fiscal year, beginning September 1 and ending August 31.

The budget is developed with input from all internal departments within the College and presented to the Board of Trustees for consideration and approval in August of each fiscal year.

Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting (GFOA)

 

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States (GFO​A) has awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Collin College for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2022.

Every two years, Texas state agencies request funding from the Legislature. That request is called the Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR).

Although Texas's legislative session begins in January of each odd-numbered year, Collin College normally submits their LARs in the fall of each even-numbered year.

In accordance with the Texas Legislature House Bill 3693, Collin College's metered consumption of electric, gas and water is reported by fiscal year.
